Family at beach complains about all the families at beach

British family the Peacocks have this week told the BBC they were shocked how irresponsible people were being by travelling in droves to the beach, after travelling over an hour to sit on the beach to soak up a bit of sunlight.

“It’s lovely to get out but I’m quite shocked as to how many people are here and how they’re not paying attention to social distancing,” Jane told the BBC. “I find that quite annoying to be honest, it’s a bit like being in Tesco.”

The family has, of course, been slammed online for not realising that they are actually part of the crowd they were complaining about, and that many of the visitors adhering to the “stay local” suggestion, instead of travelling 90 minutes out of their neighbourhood to be there.

The family is just one of many that have flocked to return to public life after the Johnson government eased restrictions this week, urging the public to “stay alert” for the virus while they are out and about, a slogan that has since been dropped after it was pointed out that it’s pretty useless to stay alert about something you can’t see without an electron microscope.
