At the greasy nexus of reality and satire that America straddles, more specifically at something called the 2025 McDonald’s Impact Summit, US President Donald Trump told a room full of cheeseburger capitalists to further immiserate their employees: “The minimum wage thing, you have to be talking about [it], you’re going to have to fight.” 

It would be human if the Hamburglers in the room were half distracted by the 20,000 emails released a few days prior, wondering silently, treasonously, if the kook on stage really did give Bill “Bubba” Clinton a blowjob? And did Putin have the pictures, as Epstein’s brother asked of Steve Bannon? And while we’re diving down this unhinged mental rabbithole, isn’t it wild that Epstein hosted a Mossad spy at his New York penthouse for many weeks at a time and maintained close ties with former Israeli PM Ehud Barak? God, that Epstein prick sure was the Venn diagram heart of every creepy rich asshole on the planet. But if these stray heretic thoughts were firing store-owner synapses, they did not stop Trump’s prole-stomping message from going down a treat. A room decorated in golden arches and detachment applauded. 

Trump did not specify whether he meant to fight the minimum wage rising, or existing at all, but his thrust was clear: we’re squeezing tighter now. Poor people only waste money on quarter pounders and healthcare and coping mechanisms for unfulfilling minimum wage jobs and sociopathic bosses that collude with a pedophilic President on how to make life suck more. 

No, it’s far more responsible to extract even more money from workers to invest, like rich people do, in burger chains and owning everyone else’s homes. Much more rational (and profitable!) to build casinos in Gaza atop the mass graves of Palestine, and to spawn suburb-sized AI datacentres that by 2027 will guzzle more drinkable water than Denmark, but also might finally give Elon Musk a chance at finding true love inside his new robot girlfriend factory. 

A robot girlfriend factory fueled by stealing the world’s art from more talented, actually lovable people, and then blending it up into memeified excrement so dipshits can snack on easier, cheaper dopamine than comes from actually understanding stuff, or doing things.

The minimum wage differs state by state in the US, but at its lowest it’s $7.25 an hour. This is the case in 20 states, largely red, southern and of the old Confederacy. Some tip-based industries are exempt entirely, and, thanks in part to the efforts of Musk and DOGE, the US social safety net, already emaciated through the neoliberal age, is aflame. George Mombiot writes in Invisible Doctrine that America’s lowest-paid 50% have collectively become $900 billion poorer since 1989. 

In the Tony Starkest of contrasts, in the decade since 2015, the world’s “elite”, the top 1%, have increased their hordes of hoarded wealth by US$33.9 trillion. That’s trillion with a T, a number so gargantuan it is all but meaningless. Oxfam paints it in more coherent terms: enough money to “end global poverty 22 times over”.

Clearly, we have a distribution problem, not a scarcity problem. This needs to become preserved wisdom etched into stone – sitting above and free from AI manipulation or corporate media narratives about dole-bludgers and scary immigrants – for every generation of future humans to make what they will with.

Oligarchal wealth is not created, it is extracted from the rest of us. Extracted from our wages, our time, our collective resources. Extracted from our happiness, our hairlines, stresses and spines. Even extracted from our governments (notice how they don’t own anything much anymore and are forever indebted and obedient to the world’s wealthiest people?). Lost moments of peace, joy, and humanity are sacrificed to a machine that swallows life and spits out currency in unjustifiable, unsustainable, and unhealthy patterns. To prop this scam up, MBA drones have spouted unmitigated nonsense on tv, in “junk tanks” and at universities for decades now, which we have all normalised despite it being ideological bullshit about how capitalism will (a) magically solve all our problems, and (b), that we are truly free under its mysterious but ever increasing “cost of living”, a phrase as much a piece of normalised psychopathy as any. 

Next time you hear some normie flog wondering aloud why billionaires don’t feed the world and correct the climate crisis and pay for peace on earth, help them to understand that they are asking the problem to solve itself. Maybe vampires could help with the deadly vampirism outbreak next?! 

In order to glimpse the depravity of this system, we don’t even need to look at the weapons companies presently using Gaza as a tested-on-humans shopfront for our fascistic governments and KKKops to drool over. It’s even in our food. 

McDonald’s, again, serves as a perfect microcosm for the evil that capitalism inherently summons into the world. Not only is the product highly caloric and lacking basic nutrition, it is produced by ecocide and slavery, and fuels genocide. The Amazon rainforest is often referred to as the “lungs of the planet”. Sixty-five percent of its deforestation is to produce beef for companies like McDonald’s. The cattle are, fairly often, farmed by people working in slave-like conditions, paid less than $10 a day and housed in shacks without running water. Consistent with this pattern of psychopathic behaviour that we reward, champion and make “normal” under our economic system, McDonald’s, globally headquartered in Chicago, recently purchased back all 225 franchised stores in Israel and provides free Happy Meals to anyone serving in the IDF. Genocidal supremacists expanding Greater Israel’s borders by murdering Palestinian kids are chowing on free cheeseburgers. Cheap kills fueled by cheap calories provided by cheap labour while a small number of men inside a room with a pedophile President reap the extracted rewards. 

If you’re an adult with a semi-functional frontal cortex in 2025 – congratulations, you’re doing better than a lot of us – it’s simply unforgivable to still believe in the benevolence of the market, in neoliberal mythology, in the isolation, numbness and learned helplessness it cultivates in all of us. (Even if it is given a Malibu-Stacey-with-a-new-hat makeover and rebranded “Abundance”.) Understand that no one wants to talk to you at parties anymore if you’re still into this shit because the bootlicking dumbness is painful to be around. 

Today’s economic orthodoxy is transparently psychopathic and detached from material reality. In fact, capitalism so overtly does not meet our collective needs that its imperial masters are using a massive chunk of their extracted spoils to ensure we don’t understand this. Without mass censorship and propaganda campaigns, the deathcult extraction rort would be dismantled. It has become far too clear that at the end of almost every supply chain you will find a strip-mined boiling planet and massacred, exploited brown people. 

Think about it. Is humanity, right now, in dire straits for want of a way to make John Lennon star in hamburger commercials or for Bart Simpson to sing in Metallica? Are we, at this crucial juncture of climate cataclysm, fascism in the imperial core, and guillotine-time levels of wealth inequality in need of a new technology that will mass-destroy jobs, the environment, and our ability to perceive and resist oppressive fascist fuckery? 

Of course not. No one asked for this, and only the talentless and the tyrannical are excited about it.

What all of these oligarchs are really purchasing is control. Control of the narrative, and by extension control of us. 

Harvard economist Jason Ferman says AI investments accounted for nearly 92% of US GDP growth in the first half of 2025. That’s insane. And that investment isn’t happening so that we can generate pictures of Bono kicking a puppy, or automate the writing (and reading) of the squillions of pointless emails our pointless capitalist jobs insist we send back and forth to each other all day, making numbers go up and down, like fucking dickheads. 

With a recent code tweak, Grok’s pro-Elon bias has reached absurd levels. On Xwitter – a site that once ruled, but has today become the Nazi book burning scene in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade – Grok has claimed that its master is in better physical shape than LeBron James. And that he would have risen from the grave faster than Jesus. And that He, and I do mean capital h He, could have created, er, Creation, faster than the Christian God’s piddly seven days. Gotta get on that grind mindset, G-Man! 

“History is written by the victors” is a cliched truism even AI enthusiasts should be familiar with. This attempt to cultivate reality in Musk’s image doesn’t stop at getting him digitally laid. It is highly political, the opposite of democracy, and it impacts the species by hijacking our internal and external reward structures, hooking us on easy (often incorrect) answers to difficult questions, constructing our realities on moronic, gaslighty bullshit tweaked by the world’s most successful hoarder. In a sick sense, it is funny that the richest man in the world would burn it all down just so a fake approximation of something he wants to fuck will tell him he’s cool. But it is also truly, truly cooked, and has species-level implications. If we evolve into husks incapable of critical thought or the ability to make decisions without asking oligarchs to do it for us, we are truly boned forever. That is the point at which resistance is futile. 

More traditional forms of social engineering are similarly being perverted and consolidated into the hands of a few hyperwealthy sickos, again, around the nexus of Israel, perpetually at the forefront of the decline in our moral standards as human beings. 

Larry Ellison was this year momentarily the richest man in the world, with an estimated net hoard of US$393 billion. Today, he is one of the most powerful owners of collective thought. He’d eat Rupert Murdoch for breakfast. An arch-Zionist, Ellison has donated more money to the Friends of the IDF than any other human on the planet. The founder of tech giant Oracle, Ellison teamed with his son, David, head of Skydance, to purchase entertainment giant Paramount and its news masthead, CBS. To do so, he needed FCC approval, which he received alongside glowing praise from Trump, who called Larry “an amazing man and amazing business person… a sort of CEO of everything”. 

CBS quickly replaced its head of news with Bari Weiss, as nutty a “liberal Zionist” as any. (Liberal Zionism is essentially the nonsensical belief that you can genocide and ethnically cleanse Palestine in a nice, humane way.) Weiss, just prior to being appointed, had made waves online by “investigating” the notion that the emaciated babies in Gaza were dying because they had pre-existing conditions, and not because they were being starved by an occupying force of Western-armed and -funded supremacist nutcases. Notice how Zionism and capitalism train a person to think in similar patterns: her genocide denial is eerily similar to health care insurance knock-backs in its amorality and unreasonable reasoning. As Pulitzer prize-winning war correspondent Chris Hedges said on The Shot: “She will destroy CBS’s credibility, not that it had much anyway”.

And now the Ellison’s are the most likely new owners of Tiktok and CNN. It’s what Trump wants. It’s what Netanyahu wants, who was filmed explaining to a group of American influencers that this purchase is the “most important in the world”. And it is what the pedophilic hyperwealthy establishment supremacists cooking the planet want. Unless we stop them, they usually get what they want.  

To complete the grotesque little loop, if you’re wondering if Jeffery Epstein, Van Wilder: Pedophile liaison for the rich and powerful, fits into this, of course he does. In 2009, Ellison named Epstein the new CFO of Oracle. Ellison was quoted in a CNet article saying of the prick: “Jeff’s expertise in global operations and finance will further strengthen Oracle’s senior management team… We look forward to having him join us as our new CFO.”

The world has seen a viral outbreak of truth, clarity and understanding. Whether gleaned through holes in the climate, the economy, or the concrete walls around Gaza, underneath mainstream media and through cracks in our settler-colonial educations, this awakening is occurring across all demographics, in most countries, from rednecks to revolutionary communists to every weirdo in between. Italy was shut down again last weekend, another national strike, precisely because enough people now know the truth. Israel is polling unfavourably in America for the first time ever. And the Empire cannot have any of this. This terrifies the 1%, and the lid is being stamped the fuck back on. 

Today, anyone selling you a blue vs red, left vs right narrative is either confused about the big picture or lying to you so that you do not understand. As Chomsky explained: “In the US, there is basically one party – the business party. It has two factions, called Democrats and Republicans, which are somewhat different but carry out variations on the same policies. By and large, I am opposed to these policies. As is most of the population.” (The truth of Chomsky’s statement does not preclude the fact that even he was hanging around with Jefferey fucking  Epstein, what… the…. actual!?!?)

The same is true across Western “democracies”, Australia most definitely included. (Though we don’t really even have two functional parties anymore.) 

This is not just a disjointed rogue’s gallery of vapid weirdos haunting the future. Today, a global establishment squeeze is on like never before in our lifetimes: it is bipartisan, fuelled by bullshit, greed, daddy issues, AI, racism, imperial conquest, an abuse of history and truth, trauma, narcissism, psychopathy, and, apparently, pedophilia and support for the genocidal colonial project that is Israel. We’ve been sold out, and more of us know this now.

This genocidal force is a cancer at the heart of the capitalist world, a rotten sore that metastasises everything in its path, from Palestine, to Lebanon, to Iran, to the streets of the imperial core, rapidly filling with surveillance cameras and drones and armaments and algorithms that have migrated to our shores from the conquered, razed lands. Supremacy is its fuel. Media and AI provide the cover and distraction. Capitalism is the motivation and reward. And our climate is the clock ticking, our deadline to destroy all of this before it destroys all of us. 

The tide is turning, hence the pushback, hence the fascism, so we’re clearly more powerful than they want us to know. Don’t buy their shit. Don’t support their bipartisan depravity politically. Protest, strike, and kick out government and/or Zionist plants and infiltrators. Assert truth in spite of the carrots and sticks of the algorithm. Cling onto reality and each other. Build communities. Find and pay for independent media you appreciate. Educate and work towards a world where we collectively tax/eat this violent depraved class of sick fuck overlord out of existence. Only then will we all be free, from every river to every sea.
